The flyers, invitations, emails, Facebook and tweets resulted in a full house to hear Nicky Cruz this Sunday! We even had to bring out extra chairs. Thanks to everyone that got busy inviting folk.
Our plan was to have the meeting outdoors, but the Lord’s plan prevailed. Physical rain outside, and the rain of the Holy Spirit inside! ReFuGe rapped, the choir sang, and Jeremiah performed a powerful mime. Then Nicky gave a powerful message about the Gerasene Demoniac and how the power of Jesus Christ delivered him from a living hell. Nearly sixty people came up to receive Christ after hearing how a “skinny preacher” from a country town in Pennsylvania told Nicky and his gang members about a loving Jesus in one of the worst areas of NYC, in spite of their murderous threats. That same Jesus Christ loves you and has a plan for your life, regardless of what you have done.

I read the book, “Run, Nicky, run” and I was inspired by Pastor David Wilkerson’s courage, love and determination. He believed God’s vision for Nicky Cruz and refused to give in to fear. And here stands a man who has chased after God’s heart instead of chasing after opposing gang members. Where would Brother Nicky be if Pastor Wilkerson did not heed to God’s call. May we all be like this man of God! God bless.
